This natural stone farmhouse was constructed using, Surecav®, a cavity lining system
that eliminates the need for a backing block that would generally be required when
building with natural stone. The installation of the Surecav system can be seen in
the bottom right picture.
The house was heated throughout via underfloor heating to maximise the efficiency
of the ground source heat pump, supplied and installed by Ice Energy. The ground
source heat pump uses long coils of pipework buried at a depth of approximately 1m
to heat a water cylinder which is used to provide the central heating and hot water
for the property.
Internal finishes included full decoration of the property, installation of all sanitary
ware and extensive ceramic tiling to the bathrooms, kitchen and utility. A cast stone
fire surround was also fitted in the living room to house a new wood burning stove.
Timber effect upvc windows and doors were supplied and installed by RH Windows LTD
with oak lintels over. Paths and patios were laid externally as a finishing touch.
