We have been involved with several construction contracts for Yeo Valley over several
years. One of the first project was the conversion of part of the old Mendip Hotel
into the Lakewood Centre. This project involved forming new offices, meeting rooms,
terraces, a canteen and entrance foyer. To follow, we turned an old disco area into
a gym for staff use. This all entailed using modern materials and high spec finishes
to provide premises which would enhance the Yeo Valley brand.
We have also converted and extended many other farm houses and barns, but one of
the most interesting was the conversion of Wills Barn. This building was in a very
tired state and the project remit was to re-build in traditional stonework where
required, fit new timber windows and doors and new flagstone flooring.
The location of the barn along with ecological priorities of the client also meant
that alternative power and heating systems were necessary. These included photovoltaic
panels and a wood chip boiler. The building is now used as a teaching facility and
lecture room for visiting schools.
